Why EPIC4?
I have had the pleasure of practicing orthodontics for 32 years. In 2024, my son, Mason, will be joining my practice. When we discussed the merits of beginning EPIC4, it was not only with my eventual retirement in the next 5-10 years in mind, but with my son's future. I want to make sure he has the opportunity to love practicing orthodontics as much as I do without as much of the stress, time, and frustrations that I have had to endure. The opportunity to create EPIC4 with friends who are exceptional clinicians as well as first class individuals is a dream come true. Providing the ability for newer orthodontists to enjoy a quality of life outside of the practice without being burdened with the tedious and time-consuming components of the practices is the ultimate goal of EPIC4.
Fun Fact
I enjoy learning new things and challenging myself. At the age of 50 I received my pilots license to fly helicopters. Not only do I receive a lot of enjoyment from just flying around and sightseeing, it has allowed me to visit my kids at different colleges more efficiently.
Kyle R Childers Bio
Dr Kyle Childers was born and raised in Marion, Illinois. He attended Southern Illinois University where he graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor in Biological Arts and a minor in Chemistry. He attended the University of Kentucky for dental school where he graduated with honors in 1988 with his DMD and is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 1990. He obtained the research award for his work with direct electric currents in the condyle of rabbits. After graduating, he returned to Southern Illinois where he started his own practice. He has embraced digital orthodontics and completed over 1500 Suresmile cases. Invisalign has now become his digital platform of choice and he is a Diamond provider. He has been a lecturer for Invisalign in the Midwest. He has served as the President of the Southern Illinois Dental Society along with being a 4 year Board member of the Schulman Study Group. In 2002, Dr Childers obtained his ABO certification and presented his cases at the annual AAO meeting after being selected for the clinical excellence award.
